Stacey Johnson

About the Artist

Stacey has thrown pottery on the wheel for over 10 years, beginning with Cone 5-6 (low/mid-fire) stoneware at Rockland Center for the Arts in West Nyack, NY. When I moved home to Maine in 2016, I joined River Tree Arts in Kennebunk where I continued working with cone 5-6 stoneware. In 2017, I joined Portland Pottery and began using Cone 10 (high-fire) stoneware and porcelain

About the Art

I consider myself a pure hobbyist and definitely not a professional or production potter.  This allows me to try whatever strikes my fancy, including different carving, throwing and glazing techniques. This means that everything is one-of-a-kind and any “sets” are made by using the same carving and/or glaze combination on the pieces. Everything is microwave, dishwasher and oven safe, as well as food safe.
