Annaclette

About the Artist

An artist with a love of the beauty of nature. I have worked in oils, watercolor, Inks, etching on ClaybordTM, porcelain sculpturing and photography. My signature, Annaclette, is from my maternal French grandmother. A Maine native, I mostly grew up in the Portland area and now live in Alfred, Maine.

For inspiration, I support groups that support my love of nature; including The Laudholm Trust, Great Works Regional Land Trust, and Three Rivers Land Trust in my home area and as a volunteer with the New England Plant Conservation Program.  Although physically more limited now, I love to return to the woods, searching out my favorite subjects. There is always something new to see and a sense of peace and oneness to enjoy.

About the Art

Some years ago while doing projects for the Wells Reserve & Laudholm Trust; I became interested in our native wild flowers. These became my favorite subjects, first in photographs and pen & ink drawings, then in etching/drawing on “clay boards” using watercolor and inks trying to capture their beauty. This technique produces very finely detailed images. I also use these techniques to produce non-objective art exploring the effects of fine lines and colors to see what illusions and depths can be created using straight lines.
