At its October, 2022, meeting this Association voted to, in effect, merge with Maine Women in the Arts, which despite its name has male members. Several of this Association’s members are already members of MWA. This Association will terminate on December 31 and this website closed.
Get ready for the SANFORD ART FESTIVAL including Art in the Park by the Sanford Art Association, an All American Pops Concern with the Strafford Wind Symphony at the Sanford Performing Arts Center in Goodall Park at 4, and Nunsense The Musical in the Nasson Little Theater at 7 on July 16. Nunsense The Musical is also playing on Friday at 7 and Sunday at 2. The Sanford-Springvale Historical Society presents La Famille LeBlanc in concert on Friday night at 7:30. And you can start every day of the weekend with artsy mini-donuts from Frannie’s!
ART IN THE PARK will have paintings, pottery, photographs, and more from 10 local and regional artists – all members of the Sanford Art Association.
The Sanford Art Association’s Second Annual “Art in the Park” event will be part of the Sanford Art Festival on July 16, 2022, from 9-3 at Gateway Park. Other main events for the festival include America the Beautiful Concert at Goodall Park starting at 4 p.m. with the Strafford Wind Symphony and “Nunsense the Musical” at the Nasson Little Theatre at 7 p.m.
Art in the Park will include paintings, pottery, jewelry, and other art from local and regional artists.
Mackayla Giles has been awarded a Sanford Art Association Scholarship. She will attending Utah State University for Studio Art/Art Education. Congratulations, Mackayla.

SAA artists continue to rotate exhibits at the Acton Library. R. E. Mongue’s works are currently on exhibit until February 28. Please contact oldtreeart04083 if you’d like to join the rotation.
SAA artists will begin a rotating group exhibit at the Goodall Library with the first art drop-off on January 31. Please contact Linda Waite at waitelinda62@gmail.com to participate.
Additional events coordinated with Friends of Sanford Downtown are also in our plans for this spring and summer.

Richard Winslow’s pottery is on exhibit at the Maine Art Hill Pop-Up Studios in Kennebunk, Maine, from now until November 29, 2021!
The Association will be meeting for the last time in 2021 on November 13th at 10:00. The meeting will be held at the Goodall Library. In addition to preparing for 2022, the agenda will include the possibility of participating in Holly Daze on December 3. It is likely that a representative from Friends of Downtown Sanford will attend the meeting.

Members of the Sanford Art Association will have a full weekend October 2 and 3!
On October 2, some of them will start the weekend off at a mosaic workshop conducted by Nancy Maloney of Metamorphosis Mosaics – http://metamorphosismosaics.com/. It will start at 9:30 a.m. and take the entire day.
Then, on October 3, the Association will enjoy a potluck dinner/pottery firing at Kat’s Ketch Pottery hosted by Kathleen King. http://www.katsketchpottery.com/
